All of Kayka's songs are based on her own experiences and observations. Which explains the zany points of view in the lyrics! And the guitar arrangements show off Kayka's strong playing abilities through cool grooves and riffs! That is the sound of Kayka's original songs, a modern rock/bluesy/theatrical niche of music!
Kayka proves that it is possible to stand alone and play electric guitar. She handles her electric guitar with her own creative style using percussive picking and strumming, open strings to support riffs, and intricate arrangements that give one guitar the the edge of a full band.
Music was introduced to Kayka through years of classical piano lessons. In her late teens, she turned to playing rock on the guitar as an outlet for adolescent rebellion. This later developed into a natural creative knack towards the six string instrument. Although a rocker at heart, she has studied jazz, blues and classical to round out her playing. She has also studied voice to broaden her range and strengthen her vocal chops. Today, Kayka teaches music to children.
Kayka plays original music shows in Manhattan, Staten Island and New Jersey. She has also developed the ability to be a human jukebox when she is hired to play covers in bars and restaurants. She can spew out everybody's favorite tunes, as local drunks try to sing along and butcher the songs. And when these guys get a taste of Kayka's original music, they get drunk and butcher those too...
